Homemade Strawberry Sprinkles with Tillamook

Making homemade sprinkles is so much easier than it sounds. I love that you can control the ingredients and make these in advance and they make the perfect topping for the Tillamook Oregon Strawberry ice-cream that is now available in stores in Michigan!

These homemade strawberry sprinkles are naturally dyed and flavored using freeze-dried strawberries. I blend the freeze dried strawberries in the food processor to make a very fine powder.

I use these sprinkles on top of our favorite ice-cream, Oregon Strawberry by Tillamook

We love Tillamook’s Oregon Strawberry ice cream because it is made with real, sweet, ripe Oregon Strawberries and Tillamook Ice Cream is made with extra cream, which gives it a rich, creamy texture.. can you say ‘DELICIOUS’.

The sprinkles have an incredible strawberry taste, because of the freeze dried strawberries. I would recommend tasting the freeze dried fruit first, because there were a few brands which I did not like. I recommend the Simple Truth Organic brand of freeze dried fruit for this recipe.

You can substitute the strawberries with raspberries or another fruit. The color will be different but that is part of the fun!
